CHAPTER 1:
The Wedding of Rosa and Daniel
“What a glorious day!” Celeste exclaimed with joy as they entered the Sinking Town.
The weather was pleasant. The clear sky was azure with small white clouds, and the gentle breeze added more to the weather’s loveliness.
“Yeah, I know right! The weather of Sinking Town is always like this,” Rosa said.
“Always?” Celeste asked.
“Yes always. That’s what Daniel told me. It’s a lovely town, don’t you think?” Rosa asked them.
On seeing the new people arrive, the people of Sinking Town used to hide. The town was famous for its unusual and unexplained deaths, yet Rosa never believed in them and invited her friends to town for her wedding. Unaware of the tragedy of this town, the four friends of Rosa came here and made the biggest mistake of their lives.
“Yes, but there aren’t many people here. Is there a reason?” Celeste asked.
“No. The population is low in this town and people are a little weird too. Look, they hide when they see new people here,” Rosa explained.
“Why did you want to have your wedding here Rosa?” Meira asked.
“I didn’t. Daniel wanted to as it’s his birth town,” Rosa answered.
“So, Rosa does whatever her beloved Daniel tells her to do?” Aretha giggled.
“Nope. He does whatever I tell him to do,” Rosa replied. “So, tell me Celeste, when are you getting married?”
“Me? I don’t know, whenever Avin is ready,” she answered.
“You should tell him what to do like I tell Daniel what to do,” Rosa suggested.
“What?! That would be so dominating of me! I can’t do that, after all, he said he wants to find a good job and then buy a house for us,” Celeste explained.
“Dominating? That’s how you show how important you are rather than agreeing on everything he says,” Rosa said her thoughts aloud.
“His ways show how important I’m to him, I don’t need to tell him that I’m important, or take care of myself. Love means to understand each other,” Celeste advised
“Oh, Celeste, Celeste, Celeste. You won’t get it,” Rosa chuckled.
Celeste couldn’t understand her. She sat down with her other friends, Nora and Meira.
“What is it, Celeste?” Nora asked.
“I don’t know, I think there’s no love between Rosa and Daniel’s relationship. I think she’s only interested in controlling him and he is only interested in her money,” Celeste sighed.
“Don’t think like that, it’s their life. They do whatever they want, we can’t meddle in it,” Meira advised.
“You’re right,” Celeste said.
Aretha sat with Rosa instead, and started mocking Celeste.s
“Don’t be upset Celeste, we’re only having fun with you. We know how much you love your Avin, and can’t even stand it when somebody makes fun of him!” she and Rosa cackled.
Celeste came to Sinking Town along with her friends to attend her best friend, Rosa’s wedding. Daniel Anwir, Rosa’s fiancé, was a greedy person and only wanted to marry Rosa for her wealth.
Celeste found that out but Rosa was never ready to believe it. Instead, she insisted Celeste break her engagement with Avin, Celeste’s fiancé, who was poor but Celeste loved Avin dearly. She couldn’t understand why Rosa wanted them to break up, yet she was her best friend.
“Miss Rosa, we’ve arrived at your new mansion,” her driver said.
“Finally!” she exclaimed.
“You bought a new mansion?” Aretha asked.
“Yeah! My and only mine, come on I’ll show you guys around,” she replied.
The girls got out of the car and Rosa showed them around her new mansion.
