About Daastan

Daastan exists because talent has never been the scarce thing in Pakistan — access has. A writer with a finished manuscript and no contacts had nowhere obvious to take it, and we set out to be that place.

We handle a book end to end: editing, cover and interior design, an ISBN from our own registered block, printing, and distribution to bookshops and online. Royalties are paid on every copy sold and tracked on a dashboard the author can open any day of the week.

A book does not end at the printer, so neither do we. Launches, literary evenings and festival appearances put our writers in front of readers, and a title stays on sale long after its publication day.

Earlier Pakistani writers could only dream of getting published. Now it is easier with the more than supportive team of Daastan which is now more of a family to me. Amazing experience publishing my first book with Daastan.

A good online approach, where I could hand over my data without the fear that it would be stolen. A safe and secure platform.

What readers say

about books from this publisher

The sarcastic approach you have used throughout the story was SALT TO THE FOOD like your DEEP RED NAIL POLISH. The way you described ART was something beyond horizon_life became art and art became life. It 'explored' the very neglected common issue i-e Parents' Counselling and the level of communication gap elevating such children. Produce more words and feed us. You and your efforts are commendable.

Another such an amazing story.it took me back to my childhood. The only line comes to my mind after reading this story is "BEAUTY NEEDS NO ORNAMENTS" all it needs is a kind heart and a humble smile on face:)
